DeAngelo Williams has stated that what the Carolina Panthers do at quarterback will play a factor in his free agency decision.
While we would all love to have DeAngelo Williams back, we never knew if there was a mutual interest from team and player.
We now know that the player is willing to give us a serious look if we can upgrade our QB situation.
The other factor will be the financial side, but that DeAngelo would consider coming back with his heir apparent already in the mix speaks volumes as to the relationship he has with his Panthers teammates, and more specifically Jonathan Stewart.
DeAngelo is also currently considering the Miami Dolphins, who by all accounts will be offering him a lead back role ahead of a Darren Sproles or perhaps a rookie runner as they plan to cut ties with Ronnie Brown and possibly Ricky Williams as well.
The heat for the Panthers to draft a QB No. 1 overall just got turned up a bit by DeAngelo.
