Newton finds himself in a tougher situation. He is taking over a team that was the worst in the NFL, and has to do so while going through rookie adjustments. Newton will be able to lean on a strong running game that features DeAngelo Williams and James Stewart. He also has the pleasure of having a seasoned and talented offensive line.
Early struggles would not be unexpected, but long term struggles will not be tolerated. Kolb will have more pressure to win now. Newton needs to show playmaking ability and development. However, there is no doubt a ton of pressure on both.
