It was the opening weekend of the College Football season in just about every college town in the country.
One of the exceptions---South Bend.
While most teams began their season on Saturday, Notre Dame must wait an extra seven days.
"The guys in the locker room were talking about,"
quarterback Jimmy Clausen explained. "We wish we could play [right now], but we have to wait one more week. But we'll be ready to go."
"It's time,"
right tackle Sam Young said.
On Saturday, the Irish went through a dress rehearsal at the Stadium that didn't help matters.
"We came back up the tunnel and everyone felt it,"
Young explained. "Everyone had butterflies like we were getting ready to play."
The Irish open up September 6th at the Stadium against San Diego State.
