After trying out for the Denver Broncos Wednesday, former Notre Dame running back Darius Walker signed with the NFL team on Thursday.
Walker is one of four former ND players in Denver's training camp and one of eight running backs. Ryan Harris is Denver's starting right offensive tackle. Rookie safety David Bruton was a fourth-round draft choice last month. Rookie wide receiver David Grimes signed as a free agent. Sign up for Notre Dame text alerts.
After leaving ND early, Walker went undrafted in 2007 but eventually signed with Houston and played in four games that season. He spent time on the Texans' roster and with the St. Louis Rams in 2008 but did not see action for either team.
The 23-year-old returned to ND in January to finish his degree requirements. He is scheduled to graduate May 17.
